Find the main water supply line. If you are not sure how to do this, Click Here. PLUMBER'S LOOP Making a plumber's "loop" in front of your water conditioner:
If you didn't order a by-pass valve you may need to make some moral equivalent of this. It gives you a way to by-pass the water conditioning unit for emergencies or for things like not using soft water, or treated water, to water the grass. Converting to high pressure hoses or PVC using "compression fittings" from the local hardware store.
BRINE TANK INSTALLATION TOP VIEW:
Don't forget to add 4-5 gallons of clean water to the brine tank. Feel free to add one ounce (a shot glass full) of Clorox bleach to the water in the brine tank so that your unit will get disinfected on the first regeneration. Always use the cleanest water possible for the brine tank's initial start up. Brine tank line: The brine tank line (or salt tank line) runs between the brine tank and the control valve of the conditioner. There is a little insert that goes on the control valve end of the line. It usually comes in a little plastic bag. You don't need one on the brine tank end of that line. Loading salt into the brine tank: Once you have everything connected and you put salt in the tank, you can fill it as full as you like. Just don't have salt on top of the white tube in the brine tank. There is a little cap on the tube that is a bit flimsy. You just don't want salt piled up on that little cap (or lid).
Check out this customer's drain line: It comes from the unit in the next room.
A great bit of plumbing:
A tight install:
